Custom Massage Therapy

Custom massage therapy incorporates a variety of modalities or types of massage techniques to ensure the best-individualized treatment for each guest. These modalities may include deep tissue, Swedish, heated bamboo, reflexology, and cupping. Using different modalities allows your massage therapist to explore the modality that most benefits your health and wellness. The massage therapists will consult with you at the beginning of your session to determine what modalities are best suited for you.

Sound Healing Massage

This massage includes a diverse range of modalities, including lymphatic drainage, reflexology, sports massage, myofascial release, Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and relaxation techniques, with a unique and immersive vibroacoustic experience. Approximately 10 minutes of the session will be hands-off while Donøvan plays a harmonious blend of musical instruments before ending the massage with hands-on techniques.

Pregnancy massage focuses on addressing the unique needs of expecting mothers. Cushioning and side-lying postures prevent pressure on the abdomen.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet. It's based on the theory that these body parts are connected to specific organs and body systems, and applying pressure to specific points relieves stress and tension.

  • If technology is your friend, then online scheduling makes it easy to book. Any book now button on our website will take you to our booking site. Our schedule updates in real-time.
  • For same-day availability and last-minute openings, call us at 919-695-6201. If we miss your call, leave a message, and we will return your call as soon as we can.
  • For your first appointment, please fill out the intake form that will arrive in your email after your appointment confirmation. Once you electronically submit it, it will be attached to your profile in Massage Book.  
  •  If you prefer to complete it in our wellness center, please arrive at least ten minutes before your appointment.
  • To help you achieve the most effective results, your therapist needs to know your complete health history, current medications/physical issues, and other treatments/therapies you have completed or are participating in. 
  • Parking is available directly in front of the office.
  • Please enter the office quietly and make yourself comfortable in our waiting area. Take advantage of this time to use the restroom, enjoy a cup of water, or relax in our zero-gravity chair if available.
  • If our front desk person is out, while therapists are in session with other clients the door will be locked. There is a doorbell on the door. If it is close to your appointment time, please ring it once and wait for the therapist to open the door.
  • Once it is time to begin your session, your massage/bodywork therapist will review your intake form with you and discuss the goals of your session.
  • Share any preferences or concerns so that we can customize your massage/bodywork session to best suit you. Remember that this is YOUR session, and feedback is essential. Pressure, music, table temperature, and whether the bodyworker uses oil or creme can all be adjusted so you receive the most benefit from your session.
  • Once we leave the room, you may disrobe and get on the table. We allow massage clients to undress to their comfort level. That means some undress entirely, while others keep on their underwear and/or sports bra.
  • Draping with a sheet or towel is provided, and only the current area being massaged is exposed.
  • Your therapist may use unscented crème or oil in your session. If you prefer one over the other, please let them know.
  • All rooms are equipped with a comfortable massage table, a heating pad that can be adjusted to your preference, a blanket, and music of your choice.
  • We will knock before entering to begin your bodywork session.
  • Once the session ends, we will leave the room for you to get dressed.
  • Please move slowly and take the time to experience any changes in your body.
  • Depending on the type of massage/bodywork you received, you may experience some soreness a few days later ~~ Similar to how your muscles sometimes feel after a workout. You should not have pain from the massage.
  • An Epsom salt bath is an excellent follow-up to your session. Most importantly, keep your body hydrated with water.
  • When you are ready, your therapist will wait outside to offer you water, receive feedback, share other therapies that may benefit you, and finally, settle your bill.
  • We accept all forms of credit cards, Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA) cards, checks, and cash.
  • We do not accept any forms of insurance. If requested, we will provide session notes. Additional charges may apply.

  • A Lighter Touch is for those who prefer gentle massage work using light strokes. It focuses more on the lymphatic system and resets the nervous system. If you are experiencing stress or anxiety, this is the perfect massage for you.
  • Customized Massage Therapy combines many different modalities into your session. These may include Swedish (light work), Deep Tissue, Cupping Therapy, and Heated Bamboo. This massage focuses more on relieving muscular pain and correcting areas of chronic tension. You may feel a little sore after a customized massage therapy session.
  • Sound Healing is a customized massage therapy session that includes live Sound Healing music during the last 15 minutes. The therapist plays the instruments while you focus on breathwork and then ends the session with hands-on work.
  • That varies from person to person, but learning what you can accomplish in different session lengths may help.
  • 30 minutes - This is enough time for specific work on a targeted area, such as the head, neck, and upper shoulders. This is also perfect if you are looking for a massage therapist and want to experience their technique before moving into a more extended session.
  • 60 minutes—Perfect for a new client. If you are looking for relaxation, this allows for a full-body session. If you have a particular problem area, such as the upper back and shoulders or lower back, the entire session could be used to focus totally on that area.
  • 90 minutes—For many clients, this is the perfect session length. Arms, legs, back, shoulders, head, and neck get the work done, with detailed work on a few trouble spots.
  • 120 minutes—OH MY! I’m never leaving! It truly is massage bliss, with a full two hours to focus in detail from your head to your toes!
  • Yes! We are fully ADA-compliant.
  • We have handicap-accessible parking in front of the wellness center, easy access, a fully ADA-compliant bathroom, two treatment rooms with enough space to accommodate wheelchairs, and electric massage tables for easy transfer onto the table.
  • Tipping is not required, but you are more than welcome to show your appreciation for an excellent massage. People generally tip between 10-25%.
